The federal judge issued the order Wednesday against James Fayed, calling him a flight risk. Fayed has not been charged with the stabbing death of his estranged wife Pamela last month in a Century City parking garage. However, federal prosecutors had urged the judge to deny bail, calling him the prime suspect in his wife's death. They said his wife had agreed to cooperate in a criminal probe of the international gold trading business the couple owned. They also said Fayed's credit card had been used to rent the vehicle seen at his wife's stabbing. Fayed's attorney says his client did not know his wife was cooperating in the investigation. |
